1. Định nghĩa câu điều kiện loại 1

Câu điều kiện loại 1 thường dùng để miêu tả sự việc/ điều kiện có thể có thật với kết quả có thể có thể xảy ra. Với câu điều kiện có 2 phần:

Mệnh đề phụ: mệnh đề chứa IF.
Mệnh đề chính: mệnh đề chứa kết quả.

Ví dụ: If you do a lot of exercise, you will stay fit and healthy.

Mệnh đề phụ: If you do a lot of exercise.
Mệnh đề chính: you will stay fit and healthy.

2. Cấu trúc câu điều kiện loại 1

Cấu trúc: If + S + V(es), S + will/can/shall + V-o
Mệnh đề phụ: If + S + V(es) (thì hiện tại đơn).
Mệnh đề chính: S + will/can/shall + V-o (động từ nguyên mẫu).

Lưu ý: mệnh đề If có thể dứng đầu hoặc giữa câu.

Ví dụ: If you read newspapers, you will know what’s happening in the world.

3. Cách dùng câu điều kiện loại 1

3.1. Câu điều kiện loại 1 dùng để cảnh báo hoặc đe dọa

Ví dụ: If you touch that wire, you may get an electricity shock.

3.2. Câu điều kiện loại 1 có thể sử dụng để đề nghị và gợi ý

Ví dụ: If you miss the train, you can get the next one.

3.3. Câu điều kiện loại 1 dùng để chỉ sự việc có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai

Ví dụ: If I get up early in the morning, I will go to school on time.

4. Một vài lưu ý về câu điều kiện loại 1

4.1. Có thể sử dụng “will” trong mệnh đề IF khi chúng ta đưa ra yêu cầu.

Ví dụ: If you’ll just wait a moment, I’ll find someone to help you.

4.2. Đôi khi có thể sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn trong cả hai mệnh đề.

Cách dùng này có nghĩa sự việc này luôn tự động xảy ra theo sau sự việc khác.
Ví dụ: Give it to him if you meet him.

4.3. Có thể sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn hoặc hiện tại hoàn thành trong mệnh đề IF.

Ví dụ: If we’re expecting a lot of visitors, the museum will need a good clean.

4.4. Trường hợp thể hiện sự cho phép, đồng ý, gợi ý.

Sử dụng công thức: If + HTĐ, … may/can + V-inf.
Ví dụ: If he has finished cooking, I will try out his food.

4.5. Trong trường hợp có thể xảy ra trong tương lai và nhấn mạnh vào tính liên tục, trạng thái đang diễn ra, hoàn thành của sự việc.

Sử dụng công thức: If + HTĐ, TLTD/TLHT.
Ví dụ: If you accept this term, we will be having to sign this contract agreement.

4.6. Với câu mệnh lệnh (chủ ngữ ẩn ở mệnh đề chính).

Công thức: If + HTĐ, (do not) V-inf.
Ví dụ: If you listen to what I say, do everything more perfectly.

4.7. Với câu gợi ý, đề nghị, yêu cầu, khuyên răn mà nhấn mạnh về hành động.

Sử dụng công thức: If + HTĐ, … would like to/must/have to/should… + V-inf.
Ví dụ: You should feel more excited if you join this concert.

5. Một số biến thể của câu điều kiện loại 1

Ngữ pháp điều kiện loại 1 — Một số biến thể của câu điều kiện loại 1

5.1. Biến thể mệnh đề IF

5.1.1. Mô ả sự việc đang xảy ra trong hiện tại.

If + S + present continuous , S + will + V_inf.
Ví dụ: If you are studying, I will not disturb you.

5.1.2. Mô tả sự việc không chắc về thời gian.

If + S + present perfect, S + will + V-inf.
Ví dụ: If he has finished cooking, I will try out his food.

5.2. Biến thể mệnh đề chính

5.2.1. Thể hiện sự đồng ý.

If + S + simple present, S + may/can + V-inf.
Ví dụ: If she accepts your card and roses, things may be very much hopeful.

5.2.2. Câu gợi ý, khuyên nhủ, yêu cầu hoặc đề nghị.

If + S + simple present, S + would like to/must/have to/should + V-inf.
Ví dụ: He should be late for the train if he doesn’t start at once

5.2.3. Có thể xảy ra trong tương lai và nhấn mạnh trạng thái diễn ra/hoàn thành của sự việc.

If + S + simple present, S + future continuous/ future perfect(will be V_ing / will have V3/ed).
Ví dụ: If we start building this supermarket today, we will have finished by April.

5.2.4. Câu mệnh lệnh.

If + S + simple present, (Don’t ) + V-inf.
Ví dụ: Please don’t disturb him if he is busy.
